FiveCurrents Prepares for Super Bowl 2009

FiveCurrents’ President, Scott Givens, is excited to announce that FiveCurrents has been asked by the National Football League (NFL) to produce a second year of Super Bowl Saturday Night. Following a successful event last year in Tempe, Arizona for 50,000 fans, this year’s pre-party to the most watched sporting event in the world will take place at Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg, Florida. Super Bowl XLIII (43) is scheduled for Sunday, February 1, 2009 in Tampa Bay, which places Super Bowl Saturday Night on January 31, 2009. The evening will include a well-known host, several headline bands, and player appearances.

A Successful Super Bowl

The East Valley Tribune reported that, “In suburban Tempe, the Counting Crows played a free concert at Tempe Town Lake and thousands of fans attended.” In fact, nearly 50,000 fans attended the first annual Super Bowl Saturday Night on February 2nd, 2008. The event was a tremendous success with crowd-pleasing performances by Spin.com’s 2006 Artist of the Year Boys Like Girls and the multiplatnum-selling Counting Crows.

Carpoolers’ Jerry O’Connell hosted the event and was joined onstage by Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker, Derrick Brooks, to rev-up the crowd for Super Bowl XLII. Super Bowl Saturday Night ended with a fireworks spectacular that truly was, well, spectacular.

SportingLife.com’s Alexander Ferguson wrote, “As the Counting Crows faded away into the sunset, suddenly the sky seemed to explode with fireworks. It was like New Year’s, Fireworks Night and the Queen’s 50th Jubilee rolled into one monstrous multicoloured firework.”

The FiveCurrents team, including Executive Producer Scott Givens, is excited with the success of Super Bowl Saturday Night and is now turning their attention to the first Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI-U), which will take place at Tulane University on March 14 – 16, 2008. 

Two Days Until Kickoff

The Super Bowl is fast approaching and the FiveCurrents team is in Phoenix putting the finishing touches on Super Bowl Saturday Night. The NFL announced the final lineup for the evening, which will begin with the Doritos Super Bowl Contest winners. Jerry O’Connell will host the evening’s festivities and various NFL stars will appear with him on stage. Boys Like Girls will open for the evening’s headliners, the Counting Crows. Super Bowl Saturday Night will be capped off with a fireworks spectacular over picturesque Tempe Town Lake.

Counting Crows to Play Super Bowl Saturday Night

On Tuesday, the National Football League (NFL) announced that the critically acclaimed, Academy Award nominated Counting Crows will headline Super Bowl Saturday Night, on Feb 2, 2008. The NFL likened Super Bowl Saturday Night to a New Year’s Eve-style event. The NFL will be celebrating the count down to the Super Bowl in style.

The free outdoor concert and fireworks spectacular will feature appearances by NFL players and an opening act to be announced soon. Gates at Tempe Town Lake, located on the northwest corner of Mill Ave. and Rio Salado Pkwy, open at 6 p.m.

FiveCurrents is planning to start the New Year off with a bang! We are excited to announce that on the evening of Saturday, February 2^nd, FiveCurrents will produce Super Bowl Saturday Night. This night of music and entertainment will take place at Tempe Town Lake, in Tempe, Arizona. Super Bowl Saturday Night is the kick off to the largest sporting event in the United States and will feature fireworks, NFL players, and a secret big name artist to rev up the tens of thousands of attendees in town for Super Bowl 42.
