Rio preparing for Reveillon

Monday, December 7, 2009

FiveCurrents is working hard to prepare for Reveillon 2010, the New Year’s celebration on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro. The annual event, produced by FiveCurrents, is gaining national headlines.

O Globo recently ran an article entitled “The Olympic Effect” in which the paper stated, “For the first time ever there will be an international press room at Reveillon to accommodate all the requests from Foreign Journalists (CNN, Reuters, Deutsche Welle, etc), according to RioTur (Tourism Department of Rio de Janeiro).  They attribute this to the fact that Rio de Janeiro will be the host city for the 2016 Olympic Games, and to the new interest in the fireworks show, being produced by Scott Givens (President of FiveCurrents, and Director of Reveillon).

FiveCurrents recently completed work on Rio de Janeiro’s successful bid to host the Olympic Games in 2016.

This year Reveillon will feature a fireworks spectacular synchronized to a custom soundtrack that will be broadcast along the beach and telecast on Globo TV around the world. In addition, FiveCurrents has added 3 stages along Copacabana Beach to provide more entertainment to the millions of people gathered to celebrate the New Year.
