FiveCurrents Awarded Rio de Janeiro’s Reveillon 2010

FiveCurrents, the creative and production firm that produced the ceremonies of the Rio 2007 Pan American Games, today announced that they are producing Reveillon 2010. When two million people gather on Copacabana Beach to ring in the New Year, they will experience the first Reveillon of a new decade and one of the largest celebrations on the planet.

“We are proud and honored that we were chosen to produce Reveillon 2010,” said Scott Givens, president of FiveCurrents. “In 2010, we will revolutionize the way Cariocas celebrate the New Year with new event conception and design, a custom-designed fireworks show with an integrated sound system and music synchronization, and sophisticated audio, revolutionary stage design, and a new broadcast and simulcast design.”

Reveillon 2010 will feature headline talent, and satellite stages to distribute the party along the beach. The celebration will feature a fully integrated audio system along the length of Copacabana Beach, and a revolutionary fireworks spectacular synchronized to music. The Main Stage will be set to deliver an iconic image with the famed Sugarloaf Mountain as a backdrop.

FiveCurrents was the Executive Producer for Rio 2016’s recent successful Olympic bid, responsible for producing the IOC Evaluation Commission’s visit to Rio, and all presentations, videos and creative support for the campaign. Chairman of NBC Universal Sports & Olympics Dick Ebersol said of the final presentation in Copenhagen in October, “Rio’s presentation was the best I have seen in 20 years.”

FiveCurrents is also pleased to announce that they have opened FiveCurrents Produções Criativas in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.
