FiveCurrents President Scott Givens is thrilled to announce that the Rio 2007 Pan American Games Opening Ceremony won an Emmy Award on Friday, June 13. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences awarded the FiveCurrents production an Emmy for outstanding achievement in costume design. Costume Supervisor and Designer Rosa Magalhaes and Costume Supervisor David Profeta accepted the award.
“I am so proud of my team for this momentous achievement,” said FiveCurrents President Scott Givens, “This is the highest honor a production can receive, and a fabulous way to thank my team that worked tirelessly to ensure a successful performance.”
FiveCurrents was nominated for three Emmy Awards, including outstanding achievement in: costume design; art, set and scenic design; and lighting direction. Carlos Arthur Nuzman, President of Rio 2016 Committee and the Brazilian Olympic Committee (BOC), Carlos Roberto Osorio, General Secretary of Rio 2016, and Leonardo Gryner, Marketing Director for Rio 2016, were in attendance at the ceremony.
The Daytime Emmy Awards will be broadcast on ABC on Friday, June 20 from the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles.
